Idaho’s Hit List: How Can We Make an Impact on Cancer in Idaho?

Idaho’s leading causes of cancer death include lung, breast, and colorectal cancer. Incidence of melanoma in Idaho is increasing. Disparities exist which puts some populations in Idaho more at risk for certain cancers and late stage diagnoses of cancer. Risk factors such as smoking, obesity, and lack of physical activity put thousand of Idahoans at increased risk for various cancers. Idaho’s screening rates for detectable cancers remain some of the lowest in the U.S.
