This answer is
not correct. Although the reaction is balanced, the product is not correct
because you reversed the charges on the ions. Remember that the oxide ion has a
negative 2 charge (column VI...it is easier to gain two electrons to obtain an
inert gas configuration than to lose 6 electrons) and the aluminum ion has a
positive 3 charge (column III...it is easier to lose three electrons to obtain
an inert gas configuration than to gain five electrons). Try writing the formula
using these charges for the ions and then balance the equation.
