This answer
is not correct. The sulfur anion...note the sodium...is the nucleophile and
methyl bromide is the substrate for a SN2 reaction. Perhaps you need
to think more about the character of the
reactants and how they interact in these reactions. I think that maybe you
are memorizing types of answers and thinking of reactions as a collection of
letters rather than real molecules...this happens with a lot of folks and always
is a disaster.
